A blossoming feminine force looms over Houston’s artistic terrain. It coils an innovative path through the testosterone-flushed stream of hip-hop. And in its wake, it resurrects the flat-lining existence of the female MC. It will stand and take its place amongst Houston’s hip-hop royalty. Prepare for the emerging force of Risse Cakkes.

Brooklyn, New York welcomed the birth of Risse Cakkes (born Cherisse Rutherford) and passed down a lineage of musical greatness. As the daughter of a reggae DJ, and cousin of platinum rapper Busta Rhymes the influence of music coursed her veins at an early age. Later, her eyes would flicker with musical dreams after witnessing the electrifying aura of R&B princess, Aaliyah and the ruff styles of Tupac Shakur. The late singer’s dynamic stage presence and hip-hop tinged R&B style inspired Risse Cakkes to take to the stage in developing her own musical talent.

Having migrated to Houston as a child, Risse Cakkes began honing her chops as a rapper by participating in local talent shows. She would eventually give group performing a nod, joining a local female rap quartet named The Smileys. Upon the group’s disbandment, Risse Cakkes went on to record several songs for DJ Bigga Boss’s underground mix CD which was performed at the 2004 super Bowl Car Show in Texas. This opportunity paved the way for various performances in and around the city of Houston, Tyler Texas and Lubbock Texas.

Risse Cakkes has expanded her artistic repertoire by developing her skills as a song writer, model and actress. As a product of Talents international and Page Parks School for Modeling and Acting, she appear in an independent film entitled, Street Tales of Terror and a recent film called Elbows and Vogues.

Risse Cakkes aims to prove that she can keep pace with the current reap industry’s male elite, while maintaining her femininity. She approaches her craft and audience with rhyme delivery that is no-nonsense, yet with a persona that is sultry and intoxicating.

Look for her to leave an indelible mark on the entertainment world. Her multi-talented skill as well as her fierceness on the mic will seal Risse Cakkes’s dreams of becoming the female heir to Houston’s hip-hop throne.

DMV ON THE RISE "NICK BAKER" TAKES U ON A LYRICAL TOUR!!!

Many say that the true feeling of expression is being sacrificed for the almighty dollar. That the music that once dwelled only in the streets of New York is now battling to keep its true identity while it grows. Though hip - hop music is highly saturated with artists of different backgrounds, sounds, and hometowns, many still believe the creativity factor once making hip- hop such an innovative sound has been lost to the overwhelming demand for "commercial songs".

As the battle ensues, along comes Washington, D.C. born Nicholas Baker, (formerly known as Nick L Bagg) who, before anything else, is a true lover of all music. He believes hip-hop has no boundaries and should be pushed as far as she can go. Being a rap artist, as well as a producer, he feels he can impact the music industry with heart-felt lyrics and soulful music.

Baker’s music can be best described as versatile. By blending and experimenting with all types of sounds, he tries to find new and innovative ways to take the music to another level. He prides himself on being a “True MC”, who can attack any type of music with creative and different flow styles. Whether through his lyrics or through his music, Baker’s goal is to make people aware and change lives. Touching a wide variety of topics, with his sound he strives to inform, help, and comfort others.

Born Devin Gross, the child of a single-parent home (mother), Nick was introduced to music at an early age. He played instruments all the way through grade school, but it was not until Fairmont Heights High School did he realize his true love for music. His music teacher, Mary Cole helped him realize music was not just a hobby but a passion, and it was what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. He went on to attend Hampton University where he studied Music Engineering. Determined to learn all there was about recording, he stayed in the studio perfecting mic skills and learning music production.

Nicholas is signed to Mid East Records, a co- founder of Bully Music Group in collaboration with artist/producer Donnie Brasco, and the Lead rapper for D.C.’s own Obsession Band. He has done numerous events for AIDS Awareness, Child Abuse, and most recently was a featured artist for a domestic violence event at Zanzibar with guest speaker Mildred Muhammad, the ex-wife of D.C. sniper John Allen Muhammad. Nicholas gives back to his community whenever he can and is prepared to make his mark on the music industry. I was born December 26 in Hampton Virginia. I was raised all over the world. I was a military brat.I have 1 brother and 2 sisters started music in the early 90s dropped out of school and hooked up with Jay Verse of World Mob Ent. before music. I played basketball but played all sports. I moved to Texas in the late 90s to further my music carrer but. I did leave music alone for a few years in early 2000 only to return with a different approach and have been grinding on a daily bases releasing mixed tapes and traveling doing shows and working with different Indy artist my music Influences are Ludachris,Busta Rhymes,Getto Boys,Rakim,Tupac and also some R&B for there work ethics like Ron Isley,R.Kelly,Prince and the late great Micheal Jackson

Bio: Doughbeezy was born in Cleveland, OH and moved to the Southeast side of Houston, TX at the age of 13.Shortly after arriving in Houston, Dough grew an interest in making music and began freestyling and writing rhymes in a spiral notebook. In 2003 he hooked up with close friend and local rapper/producer/engineer Lil Yung and recorded his first track (a diss song).
